The Assembly resolved
- that at the request of the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress, who have worked with Worora, Ngarinyin and Wunumbal tribes since its beginning, the efforts of the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress on behalf of these people to safeguard their traditional land and their access to it be supported.
- that the Prime Minister, the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, and the Premier of Western Australia be informed of the Church’s long association with the people, of its concern for their spiritual and social welfare, and the Assembly’s strong support for the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress in its stand with the people of the three tribes living at Derby/Mowanjum.
