Information & Action Resources
As children we engage with soil through sandy feet, mud pies and sense of wonder at the life of small creatures that inhabit the earth. World Environment Day was established by the United Nations in 1972 to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment and encourage political attention and action. It is celebrated annually on 5 June. The theme for World Environment Day this year is ‘Raise your voice, not the sea level’, focusing on the threat climate change presents to people and creatures who live in low lying land regions, especially small islands.
