| when the issue falls within an area of the National Assembly's ongoing work or when it has been identified by UJA as an area of importance; | |
| when we have the expertise and the research capacity to enable a high quality submission; and | |
| when it is important that the national UCA voice be heard on the issues and that the UJA can offer a submission that is unique, or 'add value' to the submissions from other churches and NGOs. |
UJA is committed to preparing well-research submissions that carefully address the terms of reference of the inquiries. We work in collaboration with other National Assembly agencies and Uniting Church state synods and agencies which have expertise and experience in the policy area.
When our aims coincide and it would improve the chances of positive outcomes, we will produce joint submission with our ecumenical or NGO allies.
